Instagram Explained the Recent Changes that Caused its Users to Create a Petition

Remember when we talked about users joining in for a petition demanding Instagram to stop trying to be TikTok? Well, once Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian joined the protesters, the demands were heard by Instagram’s chief. And the least he could do was to further explain the changes in everyone’s beloved app.

The key elements discussed in the video were these:

The full-screen feed turns out to be only in testing mode, and it is supposed to be all whacky until it is sorted out.

The shift to video is explained as an inevitable part of the app’s evolution, and the followers are assured that photos won’t disappear anywhere.

In-stream recommendations are explained as the best tool for creators to reach more audiences, but it’s still quite clear to us that this is an imitation of TikTok’s modus operandi

So, even if the app’s users aren’t happy with the new changes, it seems they are here to stay, whether we like it or not.

Twitter Adds Explainers To Edited Embedded Tweets

Editing a Tweet has long been a huge no-no – alterations to such short text messages are supposed to wreak havoc and cause many misunderstandings.

However, it seems that now you can edit your Tweets, after all, but only the ones that have been embedded on third-party sites.

Such edited Tweets will now have a message either saying “There’s a new version of this Tweet” or “Last edited (date)” added to it. So, it seems that it isn’t as hard for Twitter to implement the edit button after all, and there’s a probability that such a button will be accessible to all Twitter users.
